E2C started a new collaboration with Woon Leng Nursery, a local orchid farm.
In March 2015, E2C successfully arranged job placements for 4 clients doing various tasks on the farm.
To-date, E2C successfully placed 4 batches totaling 15 clients with UOB at their Scan Hub department.
The first batch of 6 clients started employment with UOB in October 2013.
Clients receive job support from E2C team to ensure that they are successful in their jobs.
E2C team continually engage employers and their staff – to improve job structure and environment as well as increase their autism knowledge.
Roy is a young adult who has a diploma in business. He has been working at UOB Scan Hub department since May 2014.
When asked about his job, he said: “My co-workers and supervisors, they are great people. They are very kind and helpful. By helpful, I mean that whenever I ask them for help, they won’t hesitate to help in whatever ways they can.”
Lirui is a young adult who graduated with a Higher NITEC in Wireless Technology. Currently, he is working as a part-time Barista in Starbucks.
His mother is relieved that Lirui is happy and less stressed in his current job.
She shared, “Previously, he tried many different jobs such as in F&B, IT and also in a bicycle shop. He is happier in his current job. This job is less stressful because ARC(S) E2C helped to redesign the job and fit him into the right scope. This is an important difference from his previous jobs.”
Wei Rong is a young adult who graduated with a NITEC in Automotive Technology. He is now employed in Holiday Inn Atrium as a service crew.
His mother is happy that Wei Rong enjoys his work and has made friends with his colleagues.
She said, “His friends and colleagues at work give him a lot of encouragement. He feels more confident and is very happy working there.”
